Cutting Edge Technology

New technology emerges daily and it becomes more and more difficult to stay current.  How do we do it?  Learn & Play, reading articles, blogs, playing, playing and more playing is a start.  I ran across the following article 15 Stunning Cutting Edge Gadgets from Smashing Magazine that introduced me to some new and exciting technologies such as Wii Gloves, 360 Degree 3D Holographic Displaty, and Microsoft PlayAnyWhere.

Here’s to the Crazy Ones

Posted in Risks with tags , on August 18, 2008 by runswscissors

I was having difficulty introducing my blog until I ran across this from Steve Jobs, Apple CEO.  For me, he captured the essence so well.

“Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.

They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
—Steve Jobs, Apple C.E.O.

Learn and Play

I’ve started this blog as part of Learn & Play an online learning program that encourages you to learn more about emerging technologies while playing.  I’ve created blogs for organizations I belong to, but never one of my own.  So begins my attempt at personal blogging.
